A “QUICK!” Review of “Hope (2026)”

Hope has one of the most incredible first acts ever. The tension and suspense as we see our main character traverse the destruction and carnage of the town. The production design is amazing and the cinematography is terrific. Unfortunately, this movie starts to lose its charm once we do see the monster. The CGI is awful and takes you completely out of it. The second act is a drag and overly padded out. The final act has a really lame, overly convenient and a silly action sequence. It then proceeds to have the most jarring, out of left field and sequel-bait ending ever. On top of that, throughout the film, it will constantly switch from a serious monster film to a slapstick comedy. What an insane mess of a film!

A “QUICK!” Review of “Wildwood (2026)”

Wildwood is an absolutely phenomenal film! The stop-motion animation is incredible, the character models and designs are wonderful, the cinematography and visuals are stunning, the music score is brilliant and evocative. All of this is wrapped up in an captivating fantasy tale with genuine emotional moments and distinct characters. It’s a shame that not enough people are watching this because it is a cinematic and technical wonder! This is a must-watch!

A “QUICK!” Review of “Clayface (2026)”

Clayface is an incredibly entertaining movie! The origin story for Matt Hagen is compelling and seeing his slow descent into villainy is a fun watch. The body horror is excellent and visceral while the revenge plotline is relatively satisfying. The movie does have a very weak romance, love triangle plotline that is a bit of a drag. The film does also feel a bit too long for the story being told with many moments of slow pacing. It could really have been cut down by 10-15 minutes. Still, this is a bold movie from DC Studios and a surprisingly solid entry in the oversaturated ‘Superhero’ genre. I’m excited for what DC studios does next!

A Review of “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 (2026)”

Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 is a captivating series with a fun cast of characters, great music, stylistic animation and an engaging plot. There is definitely a common theme for the story and it is clearly obsession. Whether it is obsession with revenge, cyberware, purpose, science, power or simply movies. We see what this does to the characters in Night City and it leads to an highly entertaining series. However, it never ever reaches the high of season 1. There are multiple reasons for this: It juggles multiple protagonist and subplots instead of being focused on mostly one protagonist like the previous season. Every character has their own different story that is very isolated from everyone elses. All the stories are still compelling but it is overwhelming and very unfocused. This leads to the second issue where none of the protagonists ever interact with each other apart from the kid Roman. Season 1 had an enjoyable group dynamic with David, Lucy, Maine and Rebecca who all ...

A “QUICK!” Review of “Agatha All Along (2024)”

I ended up missing this series when it came out because I wasn’t very interested in a show on the character of Agatha despite enjoying her appearance in WandaVision. After finally getting around to watching it, I was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable the series ended up being. Kathryn Hahn continues to be a delight as Agatha Harkness. She continues to be a wicked character that none of the others, including the audience, can fully trust. I do like that Kathryn is also given a chance to show different sides to the character as well. The rest of the supporting cast and new witches introduced are also great additions. The party have a fun and chaotic chemistry that works well on-screen. One of the best episodes is on one of the supporting Witches whose powers cause them to experience time in a non-linear fashion. That episode was great as we see it from her POV and how scary and frustrating it can be to jump all over the place in time. This show is VERY CAMP though and there are...

A “QUICK!” Review of “Andor Season 2 (2025)”

Season 2 continues to be an amazing, tense and wonderfully well-written spy thriller in the Star Wars universe! It does suffer from a weak start with a slow and even pointless side story concerning in-fighting between people stuck on a planet that didn’t really amount to anything. It also does lack a lot of action set-pieces compared to the first season. However, the story is so incredibly engaging and its large focus on spy work is terrific stuff. Seeing how the Rebellion finally got its start was a story worth watching! A satisfying prequel series!

A “QUICK!” Review of “The Furious (2026)”

Easily one of the best action films of 2026! The fight choreography in this film is so incredible that I was just completely mesmerized! The final act alone is worth watching this film for just how insanely bonkers it is! Go watch this now!

A “QUICK!” Review of “Mutiny (2026)”

“I have this great idea! Jason Statham plays this normal dude with a normal job but actually, he is a hidden badass! Now, he is caught up in a situation where he has got to stop this evil guy!” ~ some screenwriter for the 4th time in a row

A “QUICK!” Review of “Dust Bunny (2025)”

Vibrant and colourful visuals, amazing and distinct set design, an interesting premise with a little girl hiring a hitman to kill the monster under her bed and Mads Mikkelson as the Hitman. It’s an incredibly imaginative, quirky, creative and playful film. It’s brought down by an unfortunately poor pacing and a real lack of action set pieces. For a film on hitmen, it really needed a bit more action to really sell the film and world itself. Still worth watching for how surreal the film is.

A “QUICK!” Review of “Evil Dead Burn (2026)”

Evil Dead Burn still retains the enjoyable deadite action, gore and violence. However, it is without a doubt the weakest of the entire franchise. It lacks a charming main character that you can root for like Ash in the original Evil Dead trilogy. It lacks an entertaining performance like Jane Levy in Evil 2013 and Alyssa Sutherland in Evil Dead Rise. Furthermore, it is just so overly grim with its exploration of family trauma and domestic abuse. Couldn’t care less about any of the characters in this film. These modern Evil Dead films are starting to lack the fun comedic elements of what made the original so entertaining. I hope they bring this element back for the next entry!

A “QUICK!” Review of “The End of Oak Street (2026)”

This film has some fun Dinosaur set pieces, great visuals and music score by Michael Giacchino that are reminiscent of 90s Spielberg, and an amazing performance by Anne Hathaway. It is just everything about the script that really brings this film down. The characters are one-dimensional while making constant illogical decisions, the kids are borderline unlikeable, and the final act is JJ Abrams levels of nonsensical (which is funny because he is a producer on this!) that raises so many questions. I wanted a film that does better than the Jurassic franchise but instead is just as dumb.

A “QUICK!” Review of “Normal (2026)”

Normal is a film about a town called Normal where things don’t seem to very Normal. However, the film is actually a very Normal action film. Bob Odenkirk is very fitting as the main lead and Interim Sheriff of Normal. The visuals, music and action don’t really do anything beyond plain old Normal action films. It’s just an enjoyable Normal popcorn time film

A “QUICK!” Review of “Masters of the Universe (2026)”

And so I cry sometimes when I’m lying in bed Just to get it all out what’s in my head And I… I’m feelin’, a little peculiar And so I wake in the morning and I step outside And I take a deep breath and I get real high, and I scream from the top of my lungs What’s going on? A Review of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026)”

Tom Holland returns as Spider-Man for a 4th film, the actor to do so! I thoroughly enjoyed the previous trilogy directed by Jon Watts and was curious where it would go next since Jon was done with it. Hiring the director of Shang-Chi and Wonder Man, Daniel Destin Cretton, two of some of the best post-Endgame Marvel content felt like a recipe for success! Is this a Brand New Day for Spider-Man or a dark day for Spider-Man? What amazes me after watching this film is just how this is the most comic-booky Spider-Man film we have got ever! The amount of shots and visuals that straight-up feel like a comic book panel brought to life is wonderful! Even the way the story is told feels like it with how he fights different type of criminals, interacts with different heroes and faces different challenges. The action scenes are also great with the way Spider-Man fights feeling like it was ripped straight out of the Insomniac Spider-Man games. The choreography during the fight a...
