  Season 2 continues to be an amazing, tense and wonderfully well-written spy thriller in the Star Wars universe! It does suffer from a weak start with a slow and even pointless side story concerning in-fighting between people stuck on a planet that didn’t really amount to anything. It also does lack a lot of action set-pieces compared to the first season. However, the story is so incredibly engaging and its large focus on spy work is terrific stuff. Seeing how the Rebellion finally got its start was a story worth watching! A satisfying prequel series!

  This film has some fun Dinosaur set pieces, great visuals and music score by Michael Giacchino that are reminiscent of 90s Spielberg, and an amazing performance by Anne Hathaway. It is just everything about the script that really brings this film down. The characters are one-dimensional while making constant illogical decisions, the kids are borderline unlikeable, and the final act is JJ Abrams levels of nonsensical (which is funny because he is a producer on this!) that raises so many questions. I wanted a film that does better than the Jurassic franchise but instead is just as dumb.

  I am not big on Idol anime series. However, Zombie Land Saga was one of the few idol series that I actually thoroughly enjoyed! It was a hilarious comedy on girls who died and got turned into zombies to become idols. Despite the wacky premise, it explored deep themes of death, regret and second chances that made it more than just a generic idol anime. This sequel movie isn’t really any of that… It’s a straight-up alien invasion film and less about the idol group singing or overcoming past regrets. It’s an incredibly weird and tonally different sequel but the ludicrous nature of the premise does result in the film being a lot of fun. Plus, the biggest incentive to this film is seeing an awakened Tae! The film is a bit long at 2 hours with some pacing issues, we don’t get much on Tae’s past despite her awakening, the ending is a little disappointing and there are still tons of loose plot threads. I hope we do get a proper and more authentic season 3 though.

  Legendary director, Steven Spielberg, returns with another foray into sci-fi thriller! He also collaborates again with legendary composer John Williams, writer David Koepp and cinematographer Janusz Kamiński. Was Disclosure Day a recipe for success or did it fall short? The thing that will stick with you after the film ends is how phenomenal Emily Blunt’s performance was. She does a downright amazing job in illustrating her character’s struggle with the weird things occurring to her. She steals every scene she is in by giving an emotional and empathetic performance that is genuinely breathtaking. There is a reason many are saying this is one of career best performance. Colman Domingo gives a stand-out performance too, despite his significantly smaller role. There is one scene where he gives a strong and powerful performance, that I wish we got more on his character.   The Mandalorian and Grogu is a serviceable popcorn flick. The problem is that this is a Star Wars film. Being just a serviceable film is just not what Star Wars is. Even the most controversial or even critically considered bad Star Wars film, are still memorable and cinematic. Nothing remotely important or interesting happens in this film. If you want 4-5 good episodes of the Mandalorian show then this movie is basically that. For Star Wars though, this isn’t the way.

  This is an incredibly weird, wacky, and wild film! It’s a roughly two-hour, entertaining joyride about an unlikely group taking on a powerful A.I. overlord. The film offers a very “on-the-nose” exploration of modern technology addiction and societal apathy, but it works well within the tone it’s going for. Sam Rockwell delivers a hilariously unhinged performance and absolutely steals every scene he’s in. Whether this film works for you depends on how much you can embrace the random shenanigans that unfold. If you can, then this is a whole lot of fun!

  Even when rewatching this film, I had an absolute blast! The Martian is one of the most phenomenal films to come from Ridley Scott. The writing is exception, the acting is great, the visuals are stunning, the music score is great, the science is easily digestible and the characters are all very distinct despite being over a dozen characters. You root for Matt Damon’s character, Mark Watney, to survive. You root for the science team to create the plan to get him home. I enjoyed the science and I enjoyed how it was a collaborative effort from all the characters. Easily one of the best sci-fi films in modern cinema!

Season 1 An excellent original series in The Star Wars universe! Cool new characters with a very Western-inspired feel to the setting. Great cinematography, music score, set designs and action set pieces that make this some of the best to come out of Disney Star Wars. This is the Way!   Season 2 Season 2 continues to deliver on what made the first season great. However, it unfortunately is a bit of a step down due to one big reason. It tries to connect with every other Star Wars projects. It introduces characters from the movies and the animated shows such as Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. Thus, some the episodes just feel incredibly odd because these characters from the show are getting a spotlight over the main character. It just makes the galaxy feel incredibly small. Fortunately, the writing is still excellent and there are some stellar moments with one of the most epic final episodes in a Star Wars show!     Season 3 Similar to The Book ...

  The simple premise of saving the planet is elevated by excellent writing and wonderful direction. The science is made easy for the audience to understand, the comedy lands well, and the heartfelt, poignant moments hit hard. The characters are all incredibly likeable, too. The cinematography and visuals are stunning, with terrific practical sets and impressive CGI. Ryan Gosling is incredibly charismatic and charming as the lead, Ryland Grace, and the supporting cast are equally strong, with a special mention to Sandra Hüller. The biggest highlight of the film, though, is the beautiful friendship between Grace and “Rocky,” which is easily one of the best bromances in recent memory. Project Hail Mary is what Americans would call a long shot and wow does it land. An absolute must-watch!

  War Machine doesn’t do anything special or meaningful. The plot is extremely predictable, the characters are bland, the dialogue and writing is incredibly cheesy, and the blatant America military propaganda is shoved in your face. However, if you take the film for what it is trying to be, an entertaining popcorn flick, it does do its job fine. A Metal Gear vs Alan Ritchson It has some enjoyable action set-pieces and Alan Ritchson is a good main lead. It’s a serviceable streaming movie that will keep you entertained for its runtime.

  Who knew that a series in 2016 about a group of very larger-than-life characters dealing with weird things in their town would be the start of such a phenomenal show? It has been three years since the jarring cliffhanger of Stranger Things Season 4, and the show is now coming to an end with its final season. Will it stick the landing, or will it unfortunately become another Game of Thrones situation? In terms of what this season does well, I enjoyed that Will actually has a lot more to do. Despite being a very important character in Seasons 1 and 2, he sort of had little to nothing to do in Seasons 3 and 4. He also has a proper bonding moment with Robin that I genuinely enjoyed and found very heartwarming. Jonathan was a character butchered in Season 4 by turning him into a lame pothead. His and Nancy’s relationship seemed to be in trouble, but this season actually gives their story a nice resolution. The moment where they finally communicate honestly about their r...
