  Normal is a film about a town called Normal where things don’t seem to very Normal. However, the film is actually a very Normal action film. Bob Odenkirk is very fitting as the main lead and Interim Sheriff of Normal. The visuals, music and action don’t really do anything beyond plain old Normal action films. It’s just an enjoyable Normal popcorn time film

  The last 15 minutes is incredibly gritty, brutal and violent Punishing that is just a blast to watch! Jon Bernthal continues to deliver a strong and ferocious performance as the titular character. I was also genuinely surprise to also see such a powerful and emotional performance as well. It was also great to see Jason R. Moore return as Frank’s friend Curtis, even if it was just a hallucination. It was a shame that Amber Rose Revah nor Ben Barnes got to return as Madani and Billy respectively though. The villain Ma Gnucci is also sadly very underutilised. Plus, it can also be a bit repetitive to see Punisher repeat the plotline of giving up Punishing, only to return again. Still, for 45 minutes, this is an entertaining watch and I look forward to seeing more Punisher in the future!

  I had a lot of concerns when Daredevil was moved over to Disney. However, Born Again Season 1 ended up being better than expected. It was still definitely the weakest season of Daredevil , but considering the behind-the-scenes creative drama, the final product turned out surprisingly solid. With Season 2, though, the series was fully under the creative control of Dario Scardapane as showrunner. So, does Season 2 finally deliver a more promising follow-up? Yes, it does. The season is far more consistent visually, as well as in terms of quality and writing. It doesn’t suffer from the strange dips in quality or tonal shifts that Season 1 had. The story is much more focused and engaging, making it enjoyable to invest in Daredevil’s struggle and the resistance effort against Kingpin. Watching the characters slowly weaken Fisk’s forces, damage his credibility, and search for evidence makes for a far more entertaining season than the slower-paced nature of the first. There ...

  I was worried when they announced a Zootopia sequel. Judy and Nick already felt like they had a complete character arc in the first film. Those concerns turned out to be unfounded, as the sequel really delivers on their relationship. Even though they had become a solid team and close friends by the end of the previous film, relationships always have bumps and cracks. Judy and Nick care about different things, which leads to meaningful conflict and growth between them. Additionally, the film continues its social commentary on race, introducing reptiles into the mix in a way that works very well within the Zootopia universe. An excellent sequel that feels like a natural evolution of the franchise!

Season 1 An excellent original series in The Star Wars universe! Cool new characters with a very Western-inspired feel to the setting. Great cinematography, music score, set designs and action set pieces that make this some of the best to come out of Disney Star Wars. This is the Way!   Season 2 Season 2 continues to deliver on what made the first season great. However, it unfortunately is a bit of a step down due to one big reason. It tries to connect with every other Star Wars projects. It introduces characters from the movies and the animated shows such as Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. Thus, some the episodes just feel incredibly odd because these characters from the show are getting a spotlight over the main character. It just makes the galaxy feel incredibly small. Fortunately, the writing is still excellent and there are some stellar moments with one of the most epic final episodes in a Star Wars show!     Season 3 Similar to The Book ...

  Season 2 continues to deliver as a faithful adaptation of the manga by bringing all the iconic stories and scenes to life. It was incredibly wonderful to see! There are also some nice changes, such as teasing early plot points that have been revealed in the current manga, showing Zoro’s fight against 100 agents on-screen, and giving Vivi and Baroque Works more to do. I was worried about how they were going to handle Chopper, but that worry was unfounded because he looks terrific! Likewise, the casting of every supporting character, such as Vivi and Robin, is just perfect. Season 2 is simply fantastic. I genuinely cannot wait to see how they will adapt the Alabasta arc in Season 3!

  Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa are an incredibly fun duo in this film. It also has some enjoyable and fight choreography However, this film ends up feeling like the most by the numbers, straight to streaming film. The plot is bland, the writing is bland, the characters are bland, the shoot-outs are bland, the music score is bland and the visuals are bland. The film is also too long at 2 hours with too many moments of slow pacing. It does its job of being a serviceable popcorn flick but it does feel like a waste of Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa.

  The Rip has a solid first two acts. The way the tension and suspense build is incredibly gripping. Who’s lying? Who’s trying to get the money? Who’s the traitor? Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are one of the best duos in movies, and they’re an absolute joy to watch here as well. Unfortunately, what brings the movie down are the underwhelming action set pieces and the disappointing final act. The action scenes are hard to follow due to lame shaky cam and overly dark visuals. The final act also devolves into generic Netflix action slop. Overall, it’s an enjoyable time, and I was at least never bored.

  Many people are always quick to question why Marvel makes shows about heroes that “no one cares about.” Yes, there can be misses like Eternals or Echo, but there can also be huge wins like Guardians of the Galaxy, and now, Wonder Man. This show is amazing. It’s an incredibly unique and well-written series about a man who just wants to land his dream acting role while secretly hiding his superpowers. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is an absolute Wonder in the lead role and has excellent chemistry with Ben Kingsley, who reprises his MCU role as Trevor Slattery. It was great to see Trevor explored more deeply as a character and his relationship with the lead, Simon. The story is packed with engaging drama, strong writing, and a lot of heart. This is exactly the kind of creative risk I want to see Marvel take more often.

  The premise of a Battle Royale but with Samurais is an incredibly fun idea! The fight scenes are incredibly well-choreographed, bloody and a visual treat to watch! There is also some wonderful cinematography and it genuinely feels like they brought the Meiji era to life! The music score is also excellent. I found that all the actors did a terrific job and special praise has to go to Junichi Okada as the main character Shujiro Saga. He does a great job in bringing depth to the character and also performing the fight choreography. While the story sounds generic on paper, I do love how they explore conflict between the old Samurai era and the new one while also handling some of the politics in a digestible way. It does have a lot of generic tropes including the old broken down man, the young naive girl who can be quite annoying and overly silly bad guy.   Who knew that a series in 2016 about a group of very larger-than-life characters dealing with weird things in their town would be the start of such a phenomenal show? It has been three years since the jarring cliffhanger of Stranger Things Season 4, and the show is now coming to an end with its final season. Will it stick the landing, or will it unfortunately become another Game of Thrones situation? In terms of what this season does well, I enjoyed that Will actually has a lot more to do. Despite being a very important character in Seasons 1 and 2, he sort of had little to nothing to do in Seasons 3 and 4. He also has a proper bonding moment with Robin that I genuinely enjoyed and found very heartwarming. Jonathan was a character butchered in Season 4 by turning him into a lame pothead.
